Kuala Lumpur | Part 2

, ,
Salam and Hi!

It has been a long time since my last travel trip. Guess where I went this time. Since I love travelling a lot but time is my constrain, I travelled around Kuala Lumpur last weekend. Yup, you heard me right....just around the city centre. I acted as a tourist and went on an adventure using the KL Hop On Hop Off bus. I admit, although I was born in Kuala Lumpur and had lived in this city centre for years, there are still a lot of places that I have never been to. So, I decided that last weekend should be the best time for me to discover the interesting places while resting my mind and releasing stress.

I started my journey by LRT from home to KLCC Convention Centre to board the bus. My first stop after KLCC Convention Centre is the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex. I have always heard about this place but never pay a visit there. It was an interesting experience for me and I would love to go there again next time. At the Craft Complex, there is a Craft Museum, craft workshops and souvenir shops selling craft products. Each craft workshop showcases different types of crafting skills, such as batik painting, wood carving, sewing, art painting, etc.

Oh! Before I forgot, here's the look of the KL Hop On Hop Off Bus. I presume most of you living or working in the Kuala Lumpur city centre have seen this bus before. I saw this bus many times, passed by in front of my office building.

There are 23 stops all together. But I only picked several stops because of time constraint. Also, some of the stops I have been to before, such as KLCC, KL Convention Centre and Aquaria, Bintang Walk, KL Sentral and the National Museum.

Next, I stopped at Chinatown, also known as Petaling Street. At this stop, you could find many stalls along the streets, selling items such as clothings, bags, shoes, accessories, as well as food and beverages. You could always bargain to get a good price for the items.

Here's a kind reminder though. Please be careful of yourselves and your belongings around this area. I have an almost bad experience while waiting for the bus at the bus stop. I spotted a man behaving strangely walking towards me, looking at me with bad intention while I was trying to keep my camera inside my bag as it started to rain. Hence, I quickly walked into the building with security guard just behind the bus stop and waited for the bus inside the building. Then I saw him walked away. Alhamdulillah.

Since it started raining heavily, I decided to end my journey because most of the stops after that will be outdoors. I stopped at KL Sentral and continued my journey the next day. I will share my experience for the following day in the next post. Till then, thank you.
