Assalamualaikum

This mosque is located at Senai, Johor near the Senai Airport. It was still new during my visit, probably completed early 2010. This unique mosque is different compared to other typical mosques in Johor, I mean in terms of the architectural design. It presents a more modern look, but still has a dome on it (almost all mosque design in Malaysia have a dome). The interior of the mosque is full of carvings, mainly carvings of Arabic words, Quranic verses, as well as other Islamic symbols and patterns.

After visiting the botanical garden in Malacca, I visited several historical attractions around the city. Here are some photos that I snapped during my visit to Malacca.

Assalamualaikum

Malacca is known to be a historical state. It has been listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 7 July 2008. Some of the popular historical attractions in Malacca are the A'Famosa, Christ Church, Stadhuys, Jonker Street, Portuguese Square, etc. Besides the main istorical attractions, it has other attractions such as the Malacca Zoo and Botanical Garden. I visited the botanical garden for the first time in August 2009. There are many flowers and plants species grown in the garden. I took some close-up photos of several beautiful flowers.

Assalamualaikum

Johor Zoo is located near the Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque in Johor Bahru. It's just a small zoo compared to Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur. The entrance fee is also much, much cheaper, which is only RM3 (at the time of my visit in 2009). Since it's quite small in size, there are not many animals kept there. However, I noticed that there are more bird species compared to other species. I did enjoy my visit there though and it was my first visit there.

Assalamualaikum

Last year, the student committee of Kolej Tun Hussein Onn (UTM) organised a delegation to Beijing. It involved 15 student representatives, including me. In Beijing, we visited three famous universities and several cultural and shopping places. It was summer during our visit there and the climate was quite hot and dry. Here are some photos that I snapped using a compact digital camera throughout my travel there.

Assalamualaikum

I went to Shanghai on November 2007 with my parents. It was my first visit to China and I was so excited. I'd always like to visit other countries to know about their culture and lifestyle. It was a good experience for me. Since I visited Shanghai end of the year, it was winter that time although it haven't snow yet. If only we could stay longer, I could experience the snow there. Nevertheless, my visit there was interesting without the snow. Through my observation, Shanghai is a place where there is fusion of history and modernisation. Even the modern buildings still have the touch of culture, especially in their architecture design. I took some photos with my compact digital camera, since I don't have my dslr at that time.

Firstly, I would like to express my feeling of happiness for being able to create my own space, at last! *alhamdulillah*  This is where I will express myself less through writting, but more through photos that I've snapped throughout my journey in life.

Haziyah's PhotoJourney  means all the photos snapped are basically about life. Life is a 'short' journey to me and since a photo describes more than a thousand words, I chose to express myself through my passion in photography rather than writings. Photography makes me observe 'through my eyes' and think creatively and sometimes 'out of the box'.

After all, I do hope all of you will enjoy the things that I will share in my little space here. You are all welcomed to follow me and embark on the journey through life together. Thank you.
